Amanda Bossard graduated from high school in the year 1992, and started an education in marine science at Alaska Pacific University, Anchorage. Bossard's career began in 1999 when she was offered a position at the F/V Sunset. It is a 65-foot halibut vessel was converted to a salmon tender by Murat Ariatn. The couple is a commercial fisherman for the past twenty years. Bossard and Aritan have been married since 1993 and have come together to stake their claim to their business. They're both supporters of conservatism and lucrative renewable resources for seafood management. Otolith opened its direct market wholesale distributor in Philadelphia in the year Bossard came back from her home in her home town with two daughters, Bella 3 years old and Andre one, to Philadelphia. In 2007, Bossard, mother to two kids Bella, age 3, and Andre 1. She returned to Philadelphia from her home in Canada, opened Otolith as a wholesale direct market seafood distributor. Bossard along with Isabella as well as Andre (ages 10 and 12 respectively) return each year, beginning in July of 2016 in Southeast Alaska for the summer catch of salmon wild. Utilizing a troller of 42 inches Bossards are able to catch salmon using hooks. They then work with Aritan working in the local processing plant for a couple of weeks.
